IPF 2012 - Bangladesh International Plastics, Packaging, Printing and Food Processing Industry Fair staged the 7th time at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) from February 16th to 19th. It was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Minister of Finance Mr. Abul Maal Abdul Muhith as chief guest, and Mr. A K Azad, president of FBCCI as special guest.
This immense event was jointly organized by Bangladesh Plastic Goods Manufacturers & Exporters Association (BPGMEA), ES Event Management SDN BHD (Malaysia), and Yorkers Trade and Marketing Service Co., Ltd (Hong Kong). 250 brands from 15 countries with 350 booths demonstrated world’s leading brands from Bahrain, Bangladesh, China, India, Italy, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Turkey, U.A.E., U.S.A., U.K. and Vietnam.
The president of BPGMEA, Mr. Shamim Ahmed said we are confident that the Plastic sector has established their distinct position in different types of production systems and has been getting immense recognition all over the world, it’s role in export, employment and socio-economic development is very imperative in the present context, and happy to have received overwhelming response of participants and with their intention to exhibit their new items, this fair will upgrade the image of Plastic, Packaging ,Printing and Food processing industry in Bangladesh.
The exhibition area covers 8,000 sqm with 16,742 trade visitors, the onsite turnover was around U.S. $ 60 million during the 4 days event. Most of the participants were satisfied with the performance and fruitful outcome of the exposition. The venue was crowded with business visitors showed their interests to learned state of the arts industrial technologies as well as onsite order.
IPF 2012 not only creates the opportunity for an excellent gathering of the international suppliers and buyers, but also brought foreign investment and economic growth to Bangladesh. The visitorship of IPF 2012 has grown up 33% compared to the last edition which indicates the potential for the Bangladeshi Plastic and Packaging Industry. Certainly, the successful event has become “must-attend” when it comes to Plastics, Printing and Packaging industries in South Asia next year.
IPF 2013 is scheduled from January 23rd to 26th, 2013 again. The organizers had received 70% on spot booking, and the most of the existing participants are confident that IPF 2013 will be more successful and thriving.

The 6th Dhaka Int’l Plastics, Packaging and Printing Industrial Fair (IPF 2010) were held from January 15 to 18 at BICC, Bangabandhu International Conference Centre. It is the largest gatherings for the Plastics, Printing & Packaging manufacturers in Bangladesh which attracted more than 12,500 industrial professionals worldwide. The immense event was jointly organized by Bangladesh Plastic Goods Manufacturers & Exporters Association (BPGMEA), ES Event Management SDN BHD, Malaysia and Yorkers Trade and Marketing Service Co., Ltd., Hong Kong.
This year, there were more than 200 booths being filled up with world’s leading brands from Austria, Bangladesh, , China, , India, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, U.K and U.S.A. The categories of exhibits included Plastics Machinery, Plastics Accessories, Plastics auxiliary equipments, Printing Machineries & Accessories, Packaging Machineries & Accessories, Package & Packaging Process, etc…
Most of the participants were satisfied with the performance and fruitful outcome of the exposition. The venue was crowded with business visitors who came to place orders, make inquiries and learn about the latest industrial technologies. More than hundreds machines were sold during the 4-days event.
The exhibition not only provided the opportunity for an excellent gathering of the international suppliers and buyers to expand business to the more lucrative markets, but also brought in foreign investment and provide driving force to production and economic growth of Bangladesh. No doubt the successful event has become a “must go” for related Plastics, Printing and Packaging industries in South Asia every 2 years.
IPF 2012 is planned to be held in February 15~18, 2012. The organizers have received a lot of space reservation demand during IPF 2008, and they are all confident that IPF 2012 will be successful and thriving as it was in previous years.
